Yes, the herbal peels (B Peel and Phyto Peel) is safe to use during pregnancy, with the exception of the 5-Day Herbal Aktiv Peel.
The treatments use only natural herbs and contain no synthetic ingredients or chemical acids. The peeling effect comes from the active components of the herbs which gently stimulate skin renewal by increasing the natural cell turnover rate. This makes it a pregnancy- safe option for skin rejuvenation.
Absolutely not! During the infusion of the herbs, you may feel a sensation similar to a gentle facial scrub being applied. The intensity of this sensation increases with the strength of the peel. The B Peel is the most gentle, while the 5-Day Aktiv peel is the most intense.
After the treatment, you may experience a slight tingling sensation where the herbs have been applied. This is due to the herbs slowly releasing their active components into the microchannels of the skin. Again, this sensation is the mildest with the B Peel and strongest with the 5-Day Aktiv Peel.
If you are unsure how your skin will respond, the best approach is to start with the gentlest peel and gradually progress to the stronger peels. The B-Peel is so gentle that it is even suitable for people with sensitive skin with redness or rosacea.
Not on the same day but otherwise yes! Combining treatments is often recommended to enhance results of advanced skin therapies and this is not limited to just laser. Herbal peels can also be combined with procedures such as mesotherapy or skin needling. They may even be used as a preparation peel before more intensive chemical peels. can be used as a preparation peel for intense chemical peels.
The purpose of the herbal peel is to improve overall skin health, making the skin more receptive to subsequent treatments to achieve your treatment goals.
However, herbal peels and laser treatments should not be performed on the same day of each other. Please avoid any form of laser treatment for at least 2 weeks before and after your peel.
The only treatment that may be combined on the same day is LED light therapy which can help soothe the skin if needed (though this is often not necessary).
After the B peel and the Phyto peel, you only need to follow some simple precautions to maximise results. The 5-Day Aktiv Herbal peel, however, requires a strict regimen for the next 5 days.
General precautions for all peels include:
- Avoid activities that will induce sweating during and for at least 1 week after the treatment. This includes vigorous exercise, saunas and hot baths.
- Avoid exfoliating or using chemical exfoliants such as AHAs and BHAs for at least 2 weeks following the treatment.
- Avoid prolonged or direct sun exposure for at least 3 weeks after treatment.
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoid excessive amounts of alcohol and caffeine for at least 24 hours.
After the B peel and the Phyto peel:
- Do not touch the treated area for at least 24 hours after treatment. This allows the herbal particles infused into the skin's microchannels can stay for longer, prolonging its effect.
- After the Phyto peel, some skin peeling is normal for a few days. Do not pick at the flaking skin as it can cause premature peeling or damage.
After the 5-Day Aktiv Herbal peel:
- Do not get the skin of the treated wet for the next 5 days. This includes washing your face and if possible, avoid washing your hair too since water can drip from the hair to the face.
- Only use ALEX Cosmetic home care products as instructed by your therapist during this period.
At first, it may seem like a lot to remember for the 5-Day Aktiv peel, but the results are worth the effort. It's like getting 30-60 days worth of skin rejuvenation compressed into 5 days!
