How long is the appointment?

Accepted Answer

If it is only 1 - 2 skin tags, the whole appointment will usually take less than 15 minutes. However, if you have multiple skin tags or lesions covering a larger area, please allow 30 - 60 minutes for your appointment.

To make the most of your time, please complete the consultation and consent form prior to your appointment. This will be sent to you when you make your initial booking. Please check your junk mail folder if you have not received it.

Is it painful?

Accepted Answer

The treatments for each lesion are very quick (approximately 2 seconds to 2 minutes) so any sensation is generally very well tolerated. For larger skin tags, you may feel a slight sting or a small zap on the skin.

For larger treatment areas, we recommended that you put numbing cream on 30 minutes prior to your appointment to ensure you remain comfortable throughout the procedure.

Is there any aftercare?

Here are some tips to optimise your treatment results post removal and minimise the risk of complications:

Use antiseptic powder to keep the area clean and dry until scabbing forms. 
Gently pat the area dry instead of rubbing it.
Once the area has scabbed over, apply SPF daily to help protect the skin during healing.

Question 4

I have a function coming up soon. When should I get it done?

The sooner, the better!

For smaller skin tags, we recommend allowing a minimum of two weeks to allow the scab to naturally fall off and the skin to heal.

For larger skin tags, or if you have a lot of skin tags, a touch-up session may sometimes be required, so please allow 4-6 weeks before your event or function.
