Chemical Peels

Chemical peels work by applying a chemical solution of AHA or BHAs to the skin, causing the outer layers to peel away. At Jia Jia's Body and Skin Clinic, we offer single chemical peels or a combination of acids to suit your skin's specific needs.

This process stimulates skin regeneration and renewal, leading to smoother, clearer, and more youthful-looking skin.

Main Types of Chemical Peels

AHAs, or alpha hydroxy acids, are gentle exfoliating acids commonly used in skincare to promote smoother, brighter skin by removing dead skin cells. Commonly seen AHAs include lactic acid, glycolic acid and mandelic acid.

BHA, or beta hydroxy acids, such as salicylic acid, are oil-soluble exfoliating acids that penetrate deep into the pores, making them effective for treating acne and breakouts.

Combination Peels are used by layering the chemicals or mixing it up like a cocktail. Often people present with a combination of skin types where certain zones on the face is more oily, more dry or more sensitive than other parts of the skin. In this case, a combination of chemicals will provide the best results.

Pumpkin Peel utilises the enzymes from the fruit to loosen the bonds of the dead skin and give you the best exfoliating experience. Best for acne and problematic skin types.

What to Expect

The peel will be brushed on the face like a mask and it will feel tingly as it works its magic on the skin. Afterwards, it will be wiped off and neutralised with a specific solution to achieve homeostasis. An additional hydrating or soothing mask will be applied to promote the healing process.
